49 Covid-19 Cases On 2 Sep

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced an additional 49 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (2 Sep).

There are now a total of 56,901 cases.

Besides migrant workers in quarantine, there are also 3 community infections and 3 imported cases.

3 community Covid-19 cases on 2 Sep

MOH reported a total of 3 new community cases, of which 1 is Singaporean, while the other 2 are Work Pass holders.

Yesterday, there was 1 case picked up through regular screening. The 24-year-old Work Pass holder was asymptomatic, and close contacts were identified and isolated.

Despite increased testing across the board in the community, there are about 3 cases daily over the past week. This is a slight increase of 2 daily from the week before.

3 imported cases

There were also 3 imported cases. They had been put on Stay-Home Notices (SHN) or isolated upon arrival.

It’s likely that there may be a non-airborne case as at least 1 case wasn’t put on a SHN.

Yesterday’s cases included imports from Brazil, India, and Bangladesh.

More details to follow at night

As is usual practice, MOH will provide additional details about the cases tonight.

Hopefully as we enter a new month, we may hear more good news regarding Covid-19.
