The char marks appear to have been caused by deliberate burning.

Fire by mischief is punishable by up to 7 years in jail and a fine

According to Dr Koh, officers from the Bedok Police Division arrested a 27-year-old on Sunday (28 July).

“The man will be charged in court on 29 July with the offence of mischief by fire with intent to cause damage,” he added.
