S’porean man spotted bouncing on boot of car at JB gas station
Recently, a Singaporean man was spotted bouncing on the boot of his car at a gas station in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Netizens speculate that the man was trying to maximise the amount of fuel added.
The 46-second video of the man’s peculiar actions was first posted on Xiaohongshu, and was recently reposted on Facebook.
Repeatedly bounced on boot
The video started with the man walking over to the car’s fuel tank, presumably to check if there was space in the tank for more fuel.
After taking one look at the gas pump display, he took out a torch and shone the torchlight into the tank.
Seemingly deciding there was enough space for more gas, he moved to the car’s opened trunk and sat down.
The man proceeded to bounce up and down, shaking the car’s body along with his movement.
Netizens believe he did this to maximise the amount of fuel he can add to the car.
Fuel in Malaysia is significantly cheaper than that in Singapore.
The man had been pumping the RON97, signified by the green pump, which costs approximately S$0.97 per litre.
The closest grade of fuel in Singapore costs around S$3.38 per litre.
Netizens poke fun at driver’s actions
In response to the driver’s determination to maximise the amount of fuel he in his car, many netizens found his actions over-the-top.
Others joked that he could have flipped the car 90 degrees to truly maximise the amount of fuel the car can carry.
However, there were also netizens unimpressed with those mocking the driver and deemed it an overreaction.
