3 cars involved in accident near Fort Canning Tunnel, 4 people injured
A male driver was sent to hospital after his car and two others were involved in an accident near Fort Canning Tunnel.
Photos posted on the ROADS.sg Facebook page showed that one of the cars, a red Volkswagen, had flipped over.
Another photo showed the car nestled in some bushes by the side of the road.
Yellow car with serious damage seen in front of Fort Canning Tunnel
Another car, which was painted yellow with black decals, had sustained considerable damage to its bonnet.
A photo indicated that it was on Fort Canning Link, right in front of the Singapore Management University’s Law School.
Several medics were seen in the background of the photo, possibly tending to an injured person.
Another showed that the accident had taken place just before the entrance to the Fort Canning Tunnel. Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) vehicles lined the road and officers were seen to the side.
Fort Canning Tunnel closed due to accident
The Land Transport Authority’s Traffic News account on X posted at 1.37am on Sunday (27 Oct) of an accident towards Fort Canning Link.
It advised motorists to avoid the left lane.
About 36 minutes later, it said the Fort Canning Tunnel was closed due to the accident.
21-year-old male car driver sent to SGH
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to an accident at 1.30am on Sunday.
It took place along Stamford Road towards Fort Canning Link and involved three cars.
A 21-year-old male car driver was conveyed to the hospital in a conscious state.
The SCDF, which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that he was sent to the Singapore General Hospital.
The 21-year-old male driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
Another three people suffered minor injuries but declined to be sent to hospital after being assessed.
