Penang accident victim laid to rest with teddy bear on Sunday
The funeral ceremony for Ms Lee Zi Rou, the 21-year-old Malaysian woman who was fatally crushed by a container in Penang, was held on Sunday (17 Nov).
According to The Star, hundreds of people — including her colleagues and friends — gathered to pay their last respects to Ms Lee. The 21-year-old was fondly described as a jovial and friendly person by her peers.

Her funeral service, performed in accordance with Buddhist rites, began at 10am on that day.
At about 11.15am, her cortege reportedly left Ms Lee’s house and headed to Berapit Chinese Cemetery and Crematorium where she was cremated.
Laid to rest with teddy bear which never left her side
A massive, brown teddy bear was cremated alongside the 21-year-old Penang accident victim. The stuffed toy was gifted to her by her mother, Ms Lim, as a reward after she had attained her driving license two years ago.
Pictures photographed by The Star showed the brown bear hugging Ms Lee’s coffin, which was draped in yellow cloth.

“Since [I gave it to her], the teddy bear has always been with her,” Ms Lim shared in between tears. “I don’t want her to be alone there. I hope the teddy bear, which was with her during her life, will accompany her.”
The grieving mother explained that her late daughter had always kept the teddy bear in her car, right up until her final moments.
Ms Lee succumbed to her injuries at the accident site on Wednesday (13 Nov). According to reports, the car she was driving was crushed by a toppling container at a traffic light junction.

Additionally, another 25-year-old man was injured in the five-vehicle collision, reports The Star.
