Trailer in Malaysia detaches from truck on highway, causes car accident
Another accident involving a trailer truck occurred on a highway in Malaysia.
The incident took place on Jalan Duta in Kuala Lumpur on 21 Nov at around 2.32pm.
A trailer truck and a lorry were driving ahead of the camcar on the highway.
Suddenly, the trailer appeared to veer into the same lane as the lorry.
The lorry, in turn, moved right to avoid it while hitting the brakes, putting it very close to the camcar.
Due to this, the camcar honked several times while braking rapidly.
The sound of another vehicle rear-ending the car could be heard, alongside shaking from the impact.
As for the trailer, it rolled across the highway lanes in front of the camcar and lorry.
It finally came to a stop when it hit the road divider.
The red truck that the trailer was attached to also came to a stop in the middle of the highway.
Various vehicles carefully drove through the lane between the truck and the trailer.
Commenters recall other recent trailer accidents
Netizens expressed shock at the accident.
One noted that this was one of several trailer truck accidents in recent times and compared it to the ‘Final Destination’ movies.
Another commenter said the automated anti-lock braking system (ABS) on the trailer helped it to brake rapidly and come to a safe stop.
They also praised the camcar driver’s situational awareness during the incident.
A netizen found some humour in the situation, saying that the trailer truck driver had attachment issues.
