Collision along MacPherson Road causes traffic holdup on 28 Nov
Editor’s note: A previous version of this article mentioned that a SBS Transit bus was involved in the accident. This is inaccurate. No SBS buses were involved in the accident in question.
On Thursday (28 Nov), traffic along all three lanes of MacPherson Road was held up due to a traffic accident.
The accident involved a black Mercedes car and another vehicle.
A pedestrian at a nearby bus stop took a video of the accident site, which was posted on the Singapore Roads Accident’s Facebook page.
Collision in MacPherson halts traffic
The video shows a black Mercedes sedan stopped in front of a Service 154 bus with signs of a collision.
Airbags in the car were ejected and the left front tyre appeared flat. The front of the car also appeared damaged.
Meanwhile, the bus’ front door was left open while several people — presumably passengers — gathered at the front of the vehicle.
The accident site occupied all three lanes, halting traffic along MacPherson Road towards Bendemeer.
The video then panned to the right, showing several buses that were unable to pull up to the bus stop.
A large number of passengers can be seen standing at the bus stop, with some waiting in the rain under their umbrellas.
Buses held up due to “temporary obstruction”
In response to MS News’ queries, a SBS Transit spokesperson said the collision between both vehicles caused a “temporary obstruction” along MacPherson Road.
Several SBS Transit buses were unable to pass through, including a Service 154 bus.
The buses resumed normal operations less than 30 minutes later.
