Hyundai car gets stuck in pedestrian walkway at HDB car park, baffles netizens
A Hyundai’s mishap at a Toa Payoh car park led to it getting stuck in a pedestrian walkway.
The incident allegedly occurred yesterday (17 March) at Block 84C Toa Payoh Lorong 2.
A silver Hyundai Ioniq 5 somehow crashed into a covered walkway linking the multi-storey car park to an HDB common area.
As a result, it got trapped with its entire front half hanging in the air.

The impact also tore off the outer layer of half of one tyre, which hung sideways from the wheel.
Furthermore, a strip of metal had peeled off on the car’s side. The rear half of the car appeared unharmed.
An image from the front showed the car stuck fast in the corridor.
Someone was seen sitting next to the vehicle, presumably attempting to find a way to free the vehicle.
The crash had also strewn broken tiles and dust all over the walkway.

Bumper detaches when car reverses
Another clip online seemingly took place a while later. Workers had set up a cordon in the common area to block off the walkway.
The driver, apparently still stuck inside, was trying to reverse out of their predicament.
The car had its front wheels closer to the ground but with its front bumper significantly more damaged.

After driving backwards, the front bumper detached entirely and fell off.

However, the car managed to free itself, touching solid ground at last.

MS News has reached out to the police for comments.
In response to MS News’Â queries, a Singapore Police Force (SPF) spokesperson said the police were alerted to the case at about 2.55pm on Monday (17 March).
A 55-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.

The accident left netizens baffled at how the driver ended up in the situation in the first place.
Someone suggested that the driver may have accidentally stepped on the accelerator.
