Police said they are seeking 28-year-old Amirul Shafiq Shamsul Zahari to help with the murder probe and have urged him to come forward to any police station or contact the investigating officer.

According to reports, one of her children discovered her unresponsive on the morning of 2 Feb while preparing to leave for school.

The child alerted family members before police were contacted.

Police said the report was made by one of the victim’s sons at 8.45am, after which officers were dispatched to the scene.

Investigators believe the incident occurred in the early hours before the body was discovered.

Multiple injuries found, valuables reported missing

Ms Zaharullail was found lying in a bedroom with three stab wounds, including injuries to her upper chest and left palm, as well as wounds to her wrist, head, and face.

A forensics team and a K9 unit were deployed to assist with the investigation.

While the motive has yet to be established, police confirmed that a handbag containing jewellery, cash, and a mobile phone was missing from the house.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Wedding preparations nearly complete

Ms Zaharullail’s stepmother, Norsiah Yahya, said the deceased had been looking forward to her second marriage after several years as a single mother.
