WP disciplinary panel on Pritam Singh completes investigation, after High Court 2025 decision
The Workers’ Party (WP) has announced that its disciplinary panel investigating Pritam Singh has completed its probe.
The update was shared in social media posts on Saturday (4 April).
The disciplinary panel comprises Sengkang GRC MPs He Ting Ru and Jamus Lim, and ex-Hougang MP Png Eng Huat.
They would be sharing their report and findings with WP’s Central Executive Committee, which includes Sylvia Lim and Mr Singh, in April.

Panel to submit final report to party leadership
In the media statement released on 4 April, WP said: “The Disciplinary Panel concerning Mr Pritam Singh has completed its investigations and will be presenting its finalised report and recommendations to the Central Executive Committee in April.”
The panel was convened following a High Court judgment dated 4 Dec, 2025.
“The Notice of the Special Cadre Members’ Conference will be issued within two weeks thereafter,” it added.
The conference had been requested by a group of cadre members earlier this year.
Panel formed after conviction upheld by High Court
The disciplinary process began after Mr Singh’s conviction was upheld.
The High Court had found him guilty of lying to Parliament’s Committee of Privileges.
The case stemmed from his handling of statements made by former MP Raeesah Khan.

Comes after removal as Leader of the Opposition
Mr Singh was removed as Leader of the Opposition on 15 Jan, 2o26, a day after Parliament passed a motion deeming him unsuitable for the role.
The motion cited Mr Singh’s criminal convictions for lying under oath under the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act, in connection with former WP MP Raeesah Khan’s false statements in Parliament in 2021.
Mr Singh was fined S$7,000 for each of the two charges, and the High Court upheld the convictions on appeal in December 2025.

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the move was necessary to uphold the integrity of Parliament.
All WP MPs had voted against the motion.

Following his removal, WP chose not to nominate another MP for the role, as the party said the position reflects the will of voters.
It added that the leader of the largest opposition party, Mr Singh, should be recognised as Leader of the Opposition.
