Japan supporter accidentally ends up in Brazil section, emotional reaction goes viral
A Japanese streamer went viral after unwittingly buying a ticket in the opposing supporters’ section for Japan’s FIFA World Cup knockout match against Brazil, only to leave the stadium wearing a Brazil jersey instead.
Gamix had travelled to Houston to cheer on Japan in their Round of 32 clash against Brazil.
However, a ticketing mix-up left him surrounded by thousands of Brazilian supporters for the entire match.
Bought a ticket in the wrong section
In an Instagram Reel posted after the game on 30 June, Gamix revealed that he had “accidentally” purchased a seat in the Brazil supporters’ section.
The streamer arrived wearing Japan’s blue jersey beneath a traditional haori, making him the lone visibly Japanese supporter in a sea of yellow shirts.

His appearance drew plenty of curious glances from nearby Brazil fans, many of whom appeared amused by how he had ended up in their section.
Despite the potentially awkward seating arrangement, the atmosphere remained friendly, with supporters from both sides enjoying the match together.
Stoppage-time winner leaves streamer heartbroken
Japan appeared poised to pull off an upset after taking the lead in the first half.
However, Brazil mounted a dramatic comeback before scoring a stoppage-time winner to seal a 2-1 victory and knock Japan out of the tournament.
As the final whistle blew, Gamix was visibly devastated by his team’s elimination.

Footage showed him burying his face in his hands as the Brazilian supporters around him erupted in celebration.
Several fans then gathered around the crestfallen streamer, appearing to comfort him while also cheekily celebrating the result.
His emotional reaction even appeared on the stadium’s big screen, drawing further attention from spectators.

Brazil fans give him a new jersey
Rather than rubbing salt into the wound, several Brazilian supporters embraced Gamix and tried to lift his spirits.
One fan even removed his Brazil jersey and helped Gamix put it on, prompting laughter from the surrounding crowd.

The mood quickly shifted from heartbreak to comedy as Gamix began smiling while fans chanted around him.
To top off the already surreal evening, he also spotted fellow streamer IShowSpeed celebrating nearby.
Despite leaving the stadium dressed in Brazil colours, Gamix made it clear that his loyalty had not changed sides, writing in his caption:
Japan will definitely win the next World Cup.
