Member of the public disarms man with knife in Clementi, also sent to hospital
A 34-year-old man who brandished a knife at Clementi Central was disarmed by a member of the public on Monday (10 Aug) after he was believed to have inflicted wounds on himself.
Photos of the aftermath posted on XiaoHongShu showed what appeared to be bloodstains on the ground outside Clementi Mall.

In the photos, bloodied rags and towels lay on the ground near the bloodstains.
The area was cordoned off, with a few police officers at the scene.

Man allegedly stabbed himself
The Facebook page alleged that the man stabbed himself repeatedly in his head, and had received a video of the incident that was too graphic to be posted.
Another netizen on Reddit said they were queuing up to buy bubble tea when they heard shouting and witnessed the man screaming and stabbing himself.

Man sent to hospital with injuries believed to be self-inflicted
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at about 12.20pm on 10 Aug.
When officers arrived at Block 441B Clementi Avenue 3, they found a 34-year-old man lying conscious with injuries which were believed to be self-inflicted.
He was sent to the hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Man grabbed knife from man before police arrived in Clementi
Additionally, a 56-year-old male member of the public had disarmed the man by grabbing his knife before the police arrived, SPF said.
He was not injured, but was also sent to the hospital while conscious, as a precautionary measure.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that one man was conveyed to the National University Hospital and the other was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
