Driver crashes through bollards at bus stop in Loyang, arrested for drink-driving

Driver arrested after crashing into Loyang bus stop, one other driver and motorcyclist injured

On the morning of 16 Aug, a driver crashed their car through the bollards of a temporary bus stop in Loyang after driving under the influence.

The incident occurred at around 2.45am, and a 37-second clip was shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page later that day.

In the video, a passenger in a nearby vehicle filmed the scene of the car after it had driven into a temporary bus stop along Loyang Avenue.

The car sustained significant damage, with its bumper and one of its headlights crushed.

The crash also destroyed the bollards lining the bus stop.

Two cars and a motorcycle involved in accident

A passer-by also captured footage of a motorcycle lying on the side of the road, located right next to the bus stop.

In the latter half of the video, various bystanders and passers-by surround the car. Traffic had also built up because of the accident.

According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the accident involved two cars and a motorcycle.

A 31-year-old male car driver and a 20-year-old male motorcyclist were conveyed conscious to the hospital.

The police arrested a 31-year-old male driver for drink-driving.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to a road traffic accident at 2.05am.

They then conveyed two persons to Changi General Hospital.
