6 arrested for drug trafficking at Punggol Field among 81 nabbed in islandwide operation
Six people, comprising both Singaporeans and foreigners, were arrested for suspected drug trafficking earlier this week at a block in the vicinity of Punggol Field.
An assortment of drugs and weapons was found in their hideout, said the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in a news release on Friday (21 Aug).

Drug trafficking suspects refuse to open door of Punggol Field flat for CNB
A 38-year-old Singaporean man was the first person to be arrested at about 12 noon on Monday (17 Aug).
Nabbed at a lift landing of the residential block, he was then escorted to a flat in the same block, which was said to be a hideout.
However, the occupants within the unit refused to open the door for CNB officers when lawfully ordered to.
Officers also saw items being thrown out of the bedroom window, which were later found to be drug paraphernalia.
5 arrested in Punggol Field flat
CNB officers, who had to force their way into the flat, arrested four people:
- Male foreign national, aged 40
- Singaporean man, aged 46
- Singaporean man, aged 26
- Singaporean woman, aged 36
Additionally, a 40-year-old woman who returned to the unit later was also arrested.
Drugs found in flat & car
A search turned up drugs in various parts of the flat, namely:
- About 439g of ‘Ice’
- 300g of heroin
- 22g of cannabis
- 9g of ketamine
- 10g of ‘Ecstasy’
- One Erimin-5 tablet

Additionally, a small amount of ‘Ice’ was recovered from the 26-year-old Singaporean man’s vehicle after he was escorted to it.
Several wepons also found in flat
Inside the flat was also a collection of weapons, including a dagger, knuckledusters, katanas, and knives.
They were seized and handed over to the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

81 suspects arrested over 5 days, S$105K of drugs seized
The six arrested in Punggol Field were among 81 suspected drug offenders nabbed in an islandwide anti-drug raids.
The five-day operation from 17 to 21 Aug covered locations including Toa Payoh, Telok Blangah and Punggol.
Controlled drugs with an estimated worth of more than S$105,000 were seized, comprising about:
- 529g of ‘Ice’
- 375g of heroin
- 27g of cannabis
- 10g of ketamine
- 10g of ‘Ecstasy’
- 11 Erimin-5 tablets
The heroin, ‘Ice’ and cannabis together could potentially feed the addiction of 484 abusers for a week.
Investigations into the suspects’ drug activities are ongoing.
Death penalty for trafficking over 15g of heroin
CNB also reminded the public that trafficking a controlled drug, offering to do so, or any act or offer in preparation for or for the purpose of trafficking, is an offence under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973.
This applies whether the offender acts on their own behalf or on behalf of someone else, even if that other person is overseas.
Those convicted of trafficking more than 15g of diamorphine or “pure heroin”, or more than 250g of methamphetamine, may face the mandatory death penalty.
