Motorcyclist & pillion rider flung onto the BKE after rear-ending car that had stopped
A motorcyclist and his female pillion rider were both sent to the hospital on Wednesday (9 Sept) morning after being involved in an accident with a car along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE).
Footage posted by ROADS.sg on Facebook showed the duo being flung onto the road after rear-ending the stationary car.

Motorcycle overtakes camcar in far-right lane of BKE
In the clip, which had a timestamp of 11.20am on 9 Sept, the motorcycle was seen overtaking the camcar in the far-right lane.

The camcar, which was obstructed by two cars travelling slowly in the centre lane, proceeded to filter to the far-right lane.

It followed a distance behind the motorcycle in the far-right lane.

Motorcycle collides with car along BKE & breaks apart
Just as the camcar was filtering back to the centre lane, the motorcycle suddenly collided with the back of a car in front that had stopped.

The impact caused the motorcyclist and his pillion rider to fall onto the road and the motorcycle to break apart, with several pieces thrown across the road. It also damaged the rear of the silver car.

The motorcycle’s trunk also hit the camcar and bounced off towards the left road shoulder.

As the camcar drives away, a long line of cars was seen in the far-right lane, suggesting some kind of congestion.

Motorcyclist & pillion sent to hospital while conscious
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force said it was alerted to the accident at 11.20am on 9 Sept.
It took place along the BKE in the direction of Woodlands, before the exit to Woodlands Avenue 3, and involved a motorcycle and a car.
A male motorcyclist and his female pillion rider, both 21, were sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at the same time, told MS News that they were conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
