Traffic Police officers under investigation over incident in Ubi, appropriate action to be taken
Three Traffic Police (TP) officers are under investigation over an incident in Ubi, said the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Dashcam footage posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook showed them cutting abruptly in front of the camcar while turning right.

Traffic Police cut in while camcar & taxi turn right into Ubi Ave 3
The clip, which had a timestamp of 3.02am, started with the camcar turning right from Paya Lebar Road into Ubi Avenue 3. The video caption said it was recorded on 4 Sept.

As the camcar turned into the right lane of the two-lane road, a ComfortDelGro taxi turned at the same time into the left lane.

However, two TP officers on motorcycles, who were initially behind the taxi, overtook the taxi by cutting in front of the camcar.

They then turned right into the Traffic Police Headquarters.

3rd Traffic Police motorcycle cuts in suddenly
As the camcar approached the Traffic Police Headquarters, a third TP motorcycle suddenly cut in front of it as it also turned right.

This prompted the camcar to apply the emergency brakes.
Startled, a man’s voice can be heard asking, “Why he like that?”
In the post’s caption, the person who sent in the clip said the TP officer’s actions “directly endangered” the lives of him and his colleague, adding:
Had our reaction time been a fraction of a second slower, a severe collision would have been unavoidable.
SPF investigating TP officers
In response to queries from MS News, SPF said it is aware of the incident.
“Their actions are being investigated, and appropriate action will be taken against them,” it added.
SPF takes “a serious view” of road safety, a spokesman noted, maintaining that all officers are expected to adhere to traffic rules and exercise due care and attention.
