In a post on her Instagram page, the 29-year-old singer said that she has “come to the end of [her] journey with JYP” and will be establishing her own company — EMITHAUS.
Jihyo is the third TWICE member to announce their departure from JYP Entertainment, after Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung.
Although she is leaving the company, Jihyo clarified that this is not a goodbye to TWICE and she will still be part of the group.
Spent majority of her life with JYP Entertainment
Park Ji-hyo, known mononymously as Jihyo, is recognised by fans as the vocalist of TWICE, which was formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015.

With TWICE now in their eleventh year, Jihyo has decided to depart from JYP Entertainment.
In her statement, Jihyo started by saying that she has “some news to share” with her fans.
She wrote, “I have come to the end of my journey with JYP, a journey I have shared with you for 21 years since childhood.”

Amongst the industry and fans, Jihyo is known to have one of the longest trainee periods in K-pop, having joined JYP Entertainment at just eight years old.
Additionally, Jihyo admitted that it is tough to “summarise these twenty-one years”, and that there were “good days and not-so-good days”.
However, the artist said that it is “undeniable” that the company has shaped who she is today.

“I sincerely thank the JYP staff who have been by my side for so long and helped me grow,” Jihyo wrote.
“I will cherish the time and hearts we shared for a long time.”
Establishing her own company EMITHAUS
With the end of her chapter at JYP Entertainment, Jihyo announced the establishment of her new company — EMITHAUS.

The name derives the “EMIT” from “emitting”, with Jihyo explaining that she wants to “freely capture [her] potential that [she] have not yet discovered” during her time at JYP Entertainment.
While there is an official Instagram page and website for EMITHAUS, the company has not released any other official information.
“As I move away from the familiar environment and continue my work in a new way, I will be more careful and responsible for all future choices and activities,” Jihyo stated.
Remains as the leader and member of TWICE
Despite the shocking announcement, Jihyo also clarified that her decision does not mean “parting ways with the group that has been with [her] for so long”.
“TWICE is an indispensable part of my life,” Jihyo wrote.
“I’m looking forward to the time we’ll spend together as much as the time we’ve spent together.”

I want to stand on the same stage with the members in the future and continue the times we will create together.
Finally, Jihyo ended her statement by thanking ONCE for “believing in [her] and watching over [her] for the past eleven years”.

The future time will also be filled with low choices and efforts, and I will grow into an artist worthy of the love and support you have given me.
