Man suspected of driving under drug influence after crashing into lamppost along Guillemard Road
A 33-year-old male car driver was arrested for offences including driving under the influence of drugs on Tuesday (20 Sept) afternoon after crashing his car outside a police base along Guillemard Road.
Photos posted on Reddit showed the white car involved being towed away.

Car damaged during Guillemard Road accident
According to the photo, which was taken by a netizen waiting for the bus, the car’s bonnet was damaged in the accident.
Its hood was crumpled and folded up, while its bumper had fallen off.
At least four police officers were at the scene, along with a police motorcycle.
Car knocks lamppost askew during accident
Another photo showed what appeared to be part of the car wrapped around a lamppost situated at a tight bend along Guillemard Road.
The lamppost, which is right outside the Police Logistics Base and Found and Unclaimed Property Office along Hemmant Road, had been knocked askew by the impact.

A police car was parked next to the lamppost, and two officers were standing along the road.
A person was in the back seat of the police car.
Redditor claims car had mounted kerb
A Redditor who drove past the accident scene before the car was towed away claimed they saw the entire car on the grass verge after having mounted the kerb.

The driver, described as an “old uncle”, appeared to have been handcuffed.
They speculated that he might have been drink driving.
Vape & suspected drugs found in car
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 3.15pm on 20 Oct.
It involved a car that was believed to have self-skidded along Guillemard Road, in the direction of Nicoll Highway.

An e-vaporiser, a pod, substances believed to be controlled drugs, and drug paraphernalia were found in the car.
Man arrested for drug-related offences & driving under drug influence
The driver, a 33-year-old man, was arrested for suspected drug-related offences and driving under the influence of drugs.
The vape-related offence has been referred to the Health Sciences Authority, while the suspected drug-related offences have been referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau.
Investigations are ongoing.
