Article on former WP politician Nicole Seah uses photo of influencer with similar name
An article by Australian publication Aus Publishers about former Workers’ Party (WP) politician Nicole Seah has seemingly mixed up Singapore personalities, using photos of influencer Nicole Chang and actor James Seah instead.
The article, titled “Nicole Seah Husband: Who Is Bryan and What We Know About Their Family Life”, was published about Seah and her husband, Bryan Seah on Sunday (16 Aug).
However, the images used in the article do not appear to show the former politician or her husband.

Instead, one photo features Singapore influencer Nicole Chang, while another shows Singapore actor James Seah.
Article discusses former WP politician’s family
The article describes Nicole Seah as a former WP politician and advertising professional, and claims she has kept her family life private.
It also identifies her husband as Bryan, whom it describes as a Singaporean engineer.

The article goes on to discuss the couple’s 2015 marriage and their two daughters, while providing background on Seah’s political career.
Seah first gained national attention during the 2011 General Election, when she contested Mountbatten SMC as part of the National Solidarity Party team.

However, despite the article being about the former politician, the accompanying photographs appear to feature different people.
Nicole Chang pictured instead of Nicole Seah, James Seah instead of Bryan Seah
One of the photographs used in the article shows Nicole Chang, a Singaporean influencer, rather than former politician Nicole Seah.
The two are unrelated public figures.
Nicole Chang is known for her presence on social media and lifestyle content, while Nicole Seah became known for her involvement in Singapore politics.
The article therefore appears to have used the wrong image when referring to Nicole Seah, as the two women share the same first name.
Speaking to MS News, when asked if she was aware of her picture being used in the article, the influencer replied, “Haha, I am Nicole Changmin, not Nicole Seah.”

Another apparent mix-up involves the article’s photographs of Seah’s husband.
The article identifies Nicole Seah’s husband as Bryan Seah, a Singaporean engineer whom it says has largely stayed out of the public eye.
However, the photograph used appears to show actor James Seah, rather than Bryan.

James Seah is a Singaporean actor and television personality and is not the person described in the article as Nicole Seah’s husband.
The mix-up could have occurred because James Seah shares the same last name as Nicole and Bryan Seah.
