Bedok Reservoir Cat Allegedly Beaten To Death & Hung From A Pipe, Police Report Made

Neighbourhood Cat At Bedok Reservoir Road Found Dead, Caretakers Seeking Information On Case

The continuing occurrence of animal abuse cases in Singapore is rather heartbreaking. Although some offenders have received punishment, the sad fact is that they’re still happening today.

A stray cat was unfortunately found dead and hanging on a red pipe at Block 710 Bedok Reservoir Road on Saturday (14 Mar).

A netizen, Mdm Koh, claimed that the cat, which residents named Ah Gu, was “brutally lynched and beaten to death” on 14 Mar at 1am.

Bedok Reservoir residents loved community cat

Mdm Koh shared in the comments on the post that she had found Ah Gu as a stray kitten 15 years ago and taken care of him since.

She refers to him as a “neighbourhood cat”, which probably means that he didn’t belong to anyone.

A resident, Ms Goh, proved how much the neighbourhood seemed to love Ah Gu.

Calling Ah Gu “cloud 9”, she posted photos of him sleeping contently at the void deck, which earned him the nickname.

He’d also stay with Ms Goh after she fed him, indicating a high level of trust in the humans who’d always bring him food.

To lose Ah Gu in such a cruel manner must have caused his caretakers immeasurable pain.

Residents filed police report

Mdm Koh has filed a police report in the hopes of catching the culprit.

Her actions were out of concern for other cats in the neighbourhood which may be at risk of suffering a similar fate.

For the sake of their safety, we hope the police will find the culprit soon.

Those who have information about the case can contact Mdm Koh on Facebook.
