Little boy spotted clinging to a truck at intersection in Thailand
A heart-stopping incident unfolded on the streets of Thailand when motorists and passersby noticed a young boy clinging to the back of an ice delivery truck.
The alarming scene was captured on video and posted on social media on Monday (17 Aug).

The footage showed a little boy in a long-sleeved shirt standing and holding onto the rear of the ice truck while it was stopped at a red light at the Pratu Mueang Intersection in Sakon Nakhon Municipility.
It is believed that the child had been on the truck for more than 10 kilometres.
Traffic officer spotted him as vehicle parked at intersection
A traffic officer, who was on duty nearby the intersection, noticed the boy on the back of the vehicle.

He had initially mistaken the child for a large doll. However, he realised it was a young child upon walking over.
At the same time, the ice truck driver stepped out of his cab to inspect the rear and spotted the boy as well.
Boy likely climbed onto vehicle during delivery stop
The driver explained that he had previously delivered goods to Chiang Khruea Village in Chiang Khruea Sub-district, Mueang Sakon Nakhon District.
He then stopped for a short while to run a personal errand near the back of the village.
He believed the boy secretly climbed onto the back of the truck during that stop without his knowledge.
The driver then made his way to Sakon Nakhon city, a distance of more than 10 kilometres from the village.
Boy rescued and transported to police station
Pol. Sr. Sgt. Maj. Jakkrit (name transliterated from Thai) immediately transported the boy to the Mueang Sakon Nakhon Police Station for his safety.

The superintendent ordered immediate coordination with community leaders in Chiang Khruea Sub-district.
Authorities quickly confirmed that the child lived within the Chiang Khruea Sub-district Municipality and arranged for municipal officials to pick up the boy and return him safely to his parents.
Child safely returned to his family
Initial inquiries revealed that the boy’s mother had gone to pick water spinach near a pond near the scene.
The child wandered off out of sight and secretly climbed onto the ice truck unnoticed.

Later, the Sakon Nakhon police updated that the boy has been sent back to his family at 12.20pm on the same day.
They also praised Pol. Sr. Sgt. Maj. Jakkrit for his swift actions that saved the four-year-old from potential danger.
