Boy approaches girl in Bukit Batok, leads her to staircase

At about 5pm on 28 Aug, the original poster’s (OP) daughter was walking home from tuition when she was approached by the teenager at a playground near her home.

The boy, who was wearing basketball attire, asked for her name and also allegedly asked her whether she wanted to “do something fun”.

He then led her to a staircase in a nearby block, where he allegedly displayed “sexually inappropriate behaviour”, the OP claimed.

He also allegedly used her phone to search for obscene videos. According to the Google search history, one of the searches was for “LuXX CXX videos”.

Resident intervenes, questions boy about his intentions

A resident who was collecting his parcel outside his flat came across them and suspected that something was amiss as the girl was “distressed”.

A video he recorded showed him questioning the boy, asking him, “What are you trying to do with this little girl?”

The boy, who was holding a basketball, denied any inappropriate behaviour, claiming that it was the girl who asked for his name.

When the resident accused him of approaching other girls, he also denied this, to which the resident accused him of lying.

The resident said that his niece had been approached by a boy matching his description, but the boy claimed innocence, prompting the man to again ask:

Then you don’t know this little girl! What you trying to do with her?

The boy said that “nothing” was going on and again claimed that it was the girl who said she wanted to “play” and followed him.

When the man asked him what “play” meant, the boy repeatedly said he did not know.

Police called, officer interviews girl

Eventually, the resident called the police. A female officer was seen interviewing the girl.

According to the parent, the resident’s two nieces, one of whom is 10 years old, had allegedly been approached by a boy also wearing basketball attire at the playground a few days earlier.

They managed to run home, and one of the girls later identified the boy via a video call.

The parent pointed out that the boy in the 28 Aug incident did not have his own phone or wallet with him, raising concerns that his actions may have been pre-planned.

Other parents urged to look out for their children

The OP said they are sharing the incident to raise awareness and advised other parents to look out for their children and one another.

They urged parents whose children had experienced something similar to make a police report, as the information they provide would help the investigation.

However, they advised against confronting or identifying anyone publicly and letting the authorities handle it.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
