3 passengers injured after car enters path of bus in Hougang
Three bus passengers were injured last week, with one sent to the hospital, after the bus captain applied emergency brakes to avoid colliding with a car that entered its path.
Photos posted by Singapura Channel on Facebook showed SBS Transit bus service 329 stopped just outside a bus stop in Hougang with a stretcher next to it.

Ambulance & paramedics spotted at the scene
In other photos, an ambulance was spotted at the scene, parked behind the bus.

Inside the bus were a number of paramedics who appeared to be attending to passengers.

Several people waited on the pavement outside the bus, possibly passengers who were evacuated.

1 person sent to hospital: SCDF
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at about 8.50am on 2 Aug.
The incident took place along Hougang Avenue 4, it added.
One person was conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital as a result.
MS News has reached out to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for more information.
Bus captain applied emergency brakes to avoid collision with car
SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu told MS News that the incident happened when service 329 was making a right turn at the junction of Hougang Avenue 9 and Hougang Avenue 4, with the traffic light in its favour.
However, a car travelling in the opposite direction suddenly entered its path.
This forced the bus captain to immediately apply the emergency brakes to avoid a collision with the car, she said.
3 passengers injured, 1 sent to hospital
Unfortunately, three passengers sustained injuries during the incident.
One of them was conveyed to hospital for medical attention, and subsequently received outpatient treatment
The other declined to be sent to the hospital.
The other passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their journeys, Mrs Wu said, adding:
We wish the injured passengers a speedy recovery.
