Cat seeking forever home after owner passes away from cancer
An adorable tabby cat in Singapore is in need of a new home after her owner died from cancer.
Simply named, well, “Tabby”, she is an adorable young female with huge round eyes and a bit of a “diva attitude”.
If you’ve been thinking of adopting a furkid, this might be your sign.
Cats need new home in Singapore
According to a post in the ‘Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats’ Facebook group, Tabby’s owner, Uncle Ahmat, sadly succumbed to colon cancer on 25 April.
Besides Tabby, Uncle Ahmat also had three other cats, all of whom have since been adopted.
The OP described Tabby as “a young and pretty-faced cat with super big round eyes”.
She also has a “diva attitude” and needs more time to warm up to people.
While she might go up to strangers and rub against them, she doesn’t like having her back touched.
A touching story of redemption & love for cats
Sharing more about Uncle Ahmat’s inspiring story, the OP said he was an ex-offender in his younger days.
He spent many years behind bars for drug use but later turned his life around.
However, he was estranged from most of his relatives.
The OP claimed that the day after his funeral, they went into Uncle Ahmat’s home and removed many of his possessions.
They also threw the cats out of the house, leaving them helpless and homeless.
Still, his consideration and thoughtfulness, especially when it came to his cats, was a sure sign of his good heart.
Uncle Ahmat had made sure his home was safe for them.
He also once declared:
I can go hungry, but my cats cannot go hungry. They only have me.
These were just two of his many positive qualities the OP listed in the post.
In January this year, the OP took a video of Uncle Ahmat playing with his beloved cats, which she included in the post.
He had asked permission from his doctor to return home from the hospital for one day just so he could pet his furkids.
