Causeway Link To Run More Frequent Shuttle Services During Peak Hours
Good news for those who dislike the long wait for buses when crossing the border — your journey may get shorter by as much as 10 minutes during peak periods.
Causeway Link has recently increased the frequency of its shuttle services for three of its bus services at Woodlands Checkpoint.
These shortened intervals may reduce the waiting time for some passengers to only about five minutes during peak periods.
Increase in frequency of Causeway Link buses during peak hours
In a Facebook post on Wednesday (10 May), Causeway Link shared that it will start running more shuttle services during peak hours for certain routes.

Their decision to increase the frequency of their buses apparently comes in light of the introduction of a dedicated bus clearance lane for public buses at Woodlands Checkpoint.
Buses under service CW1 and CW2 will now be run in intervals of five minutes.
CW1 runs between Kranji MRT and Larkin while CW2 runs between Queen Street Terminal and Larkin.

This is down from the original 10 to 15 minutes passengers had to wait if they missed a bus.
Passengers of service CW5, which runs between CIQ Johor Bahru and Newton Circus, will also see an approximate 10-minute decrease in wait time.
These buses will pick travellers up at 20-minute intervals during peak periods. This means three CW5 rides will be available every hour, rather than the original two.
The increase in frequency will kick in during peak hours daily at the following times:
- 4am to 8am
- 5pm to 10pm.
A hopefully smoother journey for all commuters
The increase in the frequency of buses will surely serve frequent commuters between Singapore and Malaysia well.
There is currently no news on whether Causeway Link’s bus services at the Tuas Second Link will also see increases in their frequency.
Nevertheless, with the shortened waiting times at Woodlands Checkpoint, perhaps we can all look forward to a smoother and more time-efficient commute between the two countries.
