Yi Liu Ji Durian Shop In Choa Chu Kang Encourages Healthcare Workers With Free Durians

This local durian shop is doing their part too by giving healthcare workers free durians, no strings attached.

Free durians to thank healthcare workers for risking infection

In their post, Yi Liu Durian mentioned how their initiative was to recognise and appreciate healthcare workers’ efforts as they battle Covid-19.

Here’s what they wrote:

Healthcare workers are entitled to a set of 3 durians worth $10. Sounds like a great deal.

The promotion is only for dine-in customers, but we think sitting down to enjoy them would be a great way for durian-lovers to end off an exhausting day.

Healthcare workers should check stock via WhatsApp first

The promotion is on all day during Yi Liu Ji Durian’s opening hours, from 10am-11pm. It started yesterday (24 Feb) and ends on Thursday (27 Feb).

It looks like they have a ton of durians, so you needn’t worry about stocks running out.

Still, Yi Liu Ji Durian suggests dropping them a text via WhatsApp to check on the stocks before going down to their store, just in case.

You can contact them via WhatsApp at this number: 88167167

They’re located at Sunshine Place in Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

Here’s their full address: 475 Choa Chu Kang Ave 3, Sunshine Place #01-23, Singapore 680475

Healthcare workers redeeming their free durians

Some healthcare workers have already started patronising the shop for their durian promotion.

On their Facebook page, Yi Liu Ji Durian shared pictures of medical staff from Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic, National University Hospital, and Tan Tock Seng Hospital enjoying their durian treat.

We think it’s safe to say that the free durians were a hit with the medical workers who visited the durian shop — just look at the smiles on their faces.

Durian stall gives back to the community

This isn’t the first time that Yi Liu Ji Durian’s done their part for the community.

Last August, they gave away 540kg of durians to Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation Singaporeans in commemoration of Singapore’s 54th birthday.

They wanted to thank the generations who literally built the nation and paved the way for future generations of Singapore.

In their event post, they also mentioned how they intended to “ignite the spirit of philanthropy” and “connect the communities” via the giveaway.

Yi Liu Ji Durian has shown that it really does care, and we commend them for their continued efforts at uplifting communities.

We hope more establishments continue to do the same, even after this Covid-19 outbreak blows over.
