Commuters Who Bought Concession Pass Before 21 Apr Will Get E-Vouchers Refunds
In light of the ‘Circuit Breaker‘ (CB), many Singaporeans are commuting less to work or school, especially via public transport.
Naturally, this would mean incurring lesser travel expenses. But for those who have already bought bus and MRT concession cards, this might actually be bad news.
But come 2 Jun, commuters who bought monthly concession passes before 21 Apr will be able to get refunds for their unused credits.
Concession refunds based on date of purchase
According to The Straits Times (ST), refunds that commuters receive will be based on the “unused days left” on their passes and the date when they bought the concession.
Those who bought their passes before 4 April will be refunded for the period from 7 Apr to 1 Jun.
Commuters who purchased their passes between 4-21 Apr will receive pro-rated amounts for the period from 22 Apr-1 Jun.
If the concession pass expires before 1 Jun, the refund will be for the period until the expiry date instead.
Refunds given to students, however, will be for the period starting 8 Apr, reports ST.
Commuters can redeem refund from Add Value Machine
Commuters can redeem the refunds from 2 Jun to 31 Aug at any Add Value Machine or TransitLink Kiosk.
The reimbursement will be dispersed in the form of transport e-Viouchers.
These vouchers can then be used to offset the cost used to buy new monthly concession passes.
New concession cards can be purchased at any TransitLink Ticket Office or Concession Card Replacement Office islandwide.
Those who wish to enquire on their refund can do so via TransitLink’s website or call their hotline at 1800-2255-663 from tomorrow (19 May) onwards between 8am and 6pm.
