Police Arrest Two Men Suspected Of Selling Counterfeit Footwear On 15 Apr
Last Saturday (15 Apr), police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested two men suspected of selling about 1,700 pairs of counterfeit footwear.
The counterfeit shoes have an estimated street value of over S$370,000.

2 men arrested during police raid for selling counterfeit footwear
According to TODAY, CID officers conducted a raid along Bishan Street 23 and Yishun Ring Road on Saturday (15 Apr).
During the operation, they arrested two men, aged 24 and 26 respectively.
Officers also managed to seize the duo’s counterfeit items.

The Straits Times (ST) reported that the men had sold 1,700 pairs of such counterfeit footwear. These items had a total street value of over S$370,000.
Men faces up to 5 years’ jail
Investigations are currently ongoing.
If found guilty of possessing goods with falsely applied trademarks for the purpose of trade, the men could face a fine of up to S$100,000.
They could also face a jail term of up to five years. The two men may receive both or one of the two punishments.
The police also noted that they “will not hesitate to take tough action against perpetrators who profit at the expense of legitimate businesses and consumers.”
