Singaporean saves enough money to bring wheelchair-bound dad on China trip, his first visit in 31 years
On 18 Sept, a Singaporean man shared the heartwarming moments his family experienced after he finally saved enough money to bring his entire family to China, including his 81-year-old wheelchair-bound father.
In his Instagram post, 30-year-old Denson said he couldn’t bring his dad along last year when he and his mum visited Chengdu and Chongqing.
During that trip, his mum often felt guilty whenever she was amazed by something because her husband was not there to experience it with her.
“She feels guilty for enjoying things alone without my dad,” Denson wrote.
This year, however, Denson managed to save enough money to afford a trip to China for the whole family.

Mum’s youthful energy evident
The trip included five people — Denson, his parents, their helper Abegail, and Kelvin.
In the caption, he also thanked the people who supported him online.
“Due to accessibility issues and finances, I was not able to bring them overseas back then,” he wrote. “This year, thanks to the people who supported me online, I can finally do so!”

In particular, he extended extra thanks to the family’s helper. Without her, the trip would not have been possible, he noted.
On his Instagram Stories, Denson shared highlights from the trip. In the first clip, he indicated that the family travelled to Hangzhou, China for six days.
It was also his dad’s first time visiting China in 31 years, he added.

The subsequent clips show Denson’s 72-year-old mum full of energy as she shows youthful excitement and curiosity at everything she saw.
She can be seen hyping up nearly everyone, with Denson noting that this was where he got his “hypeman energy” from.

No more tears of guilt
With her husband there with her this time, Denson’s mum was much more relaxed and happy.
“She did not cry as many times,” he told MS News. “All the tears shed on this trip were tears of joy.”

“Please spend more time with your family while they are still here!” Denson also added.
