Old Dog With Wound That Has Been Bleeding Since Sep 2019 Left Alone At HDB Void Deck
As much as people say dogs are man’s best friend, this unfortunately isn’t the case for all doggos in Singapore.
This was made evident when a poor old dog was found left alone at the foot of a HDB block with a bleeding open wound.
On Saturday (18 Jan), Chained Dog Awareness Singapore (CDAS) was alerted to a senior dog left alone at a HDB void deck located in Hougang.
They were told that the dog had an open wound, which had apparently been there for several months.
Worried, CDAS volunteers rushed to the scene immediately. However, the dog was already brought back into the flat by his owner.

Graphic pictures sent to CDAS revealed that this old dog was bleeding profusely from a seemingly open wound located at the back of his thigh.
When volunteers from CDAS arrived at the scene, they found that the dog was already brought back into the apartment by his owner.
Upon approaching a tenant in the flat, the volunteers were disheartened after being denied of giving the dog medical attention. The tenant even refused to notify the dog’s owner of this incident.
Helpless, CDAS volunteers turned to Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) for help and also filed a police report.
AVS arrived, brought senior dog to the vet
During the phone call with the police, the tenant noted that the dog was still alive and breathing and his owner was on the way home.
In the meantime, CDAS volunteers prepared a transporter on stand-by so that the poor senior dog could be rushed to the vet as soon as possible.
The dog apparently made it to the vet, but his current condition is unknown.

Poor dog allegedly injured since Sep 2019
While speaking to several witnesses, CDAS learnt that the doggo had been spotted bleeding since Sep 2019. According to them, his condition has been going downhill since then.
When asked, the dog’s owner admitted that the dog hadn’t been feeling his best for awhile.
CDAS believed that the situation was made worse when the tenant denied them of taking the dog to the vet, prolonging the dog’s pain.
Hope the dog’s feeling better now
We are deeply saddened by the fact that this senior dog had seemingly been suffering in silence for about 5 months, before help came.
Regardless, we’re glad that CDAS and AVS managed to step in and get the dog the medical attention he desperately needed. Hopefully the poor doggo will feel better after his vet visit.
