Elderly couples brawl on Hong Kong train
Four seniors engaged in a brawl allegedly over priority seating on a Light Rail train in Hong Kong on Friday (28 Aug) morning.
The two elderly married couples aged between 69 and 75 were then transported to the hospital for treatment and were subsequently arrested.

According to The Standard, the two elderly married couples who did not know each other boarded the train from Tuen Mun Hospital at around 11am.
Shortly after, a brawl broke out between the couples, allegedly over priority seats.
Footage circulating online shows those involved cursing at each other in front of the priority seats before they started to get physical.

The seniors were seen choking one another, slapping, and pulling each other’s hair. At one point, one of them even wielded a walking stick as a weapon.
Meanwhile, other passengers can be heard telling the group to stop fighting.
An eyewitness also claimed that the four continued to brawl even when other seats became available in the carriage, HK01 reported.

Taken to hospital and subsequently arrested
After being notified about the brawl, the train captain stopped the vehicle at a station.
They also called the police and arranged for the other passengers to move to another train.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency personnel found all four individuals conscious with several minor injuries.
The elderly couples were then transported back to Tuen Mun Hospital for medical treatment.
However, police later arrested them at the hospital for fighting publicly.
Those involved were identified as a couple surnamed Chan, aged 71 and 69, and another couple surnamed Lo and Lam, aged 75 and 69.
The case has been transferred to the Tuen Mun District Criminal Investigation Team 2 for further probe.
