Fire engine gets stuck in Sengkang, leaves huge holes on grass patch
A fire engine was allegedly stuck on a grass patch at Block 338A in Anchorvale Crescent, Sengkang, with the vehicle leaving deep tyre tracks in the ground after exiting.

A TikTok video posted by @mysteryboy252 on Saturday (26 Sept) showed a fire engine on a grassy area next to what appeared to be an HDB block.
The text overlaid on the video read: “Fire truck gets stuck”.
In the footage, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire engine could be seen positioned on the grass near a building.

The vehicle appeared to have difficulty moving, with its wheels spinning while the fire engine barely moved.
At one point, the fire engine managed to inch slightly forward after much effort before coming to a stop.
Towards the end of the video, the Original Poster (OP) panned across the grass, revealing deep and muddy tyre tracks.

One section appeared particularly badly damaged, with a large patch of soil exposed and displaced.
The fire engine was also nowhere in sight, meaning that it managed to exit the area.
Netizens discuss what happened to fire engine
The TikTok video had drawn attention online, with netizens discussing what actually happened.
A netizen asked how the fire engine got stuck, to which the OP replied that it was trying to access the fire hydrant.

A TikTok user also pointed out that the fire engine access area should be a “dedicated hardstand” rather than grass.

A commenter also agreed, saying the firefighters were probably conducting routine checks and familiarisation exercises.
They also added that HDB would need to “rework the area” to prevent a recurrence.

Fire engine was trying to access a fire hydrant
The OP, Maeson, told MS News that he witnessed the incident on 24 Sept at around 5.30pm.
“The fire engine was trying to access a fire hydrant when it got stuck because a car was blocking its path, and it sank into the wet ground,” he said.
“I was quite shocked and just pulled out my phone to record.”
According to Maeson, there was no fire nearby.
“The SCDF officers were trying to access a fire hydrant,” he said.
Maeson added that the fire engine remained stuck for around three hours until a tow truck arrived to free it.

In response to MS News’ queries, SCDF said its firefighters had just completed routine checks on the fire safety provisions at Block 338A Anchorvale Crescent on 24 Sept at about 3.50pm.
As the fire engine was departing the area, its rear wheels sank into the grass verge near the block.
SCDF officers then worked with a vehicle contractor to move the fire engine onto firm ground before driving it back to the fire station.
SCDF is also reviewing the circumstances of the matter.
