Diabetics require alcohol swabs for their insulin injections. Without the swabs, they are undoubtedly facing a tough time.

The virus is not only causing supply shortages, but also making it difficult to visit hospitals for their screenings.

Distribution of free alcohol swabs and lancets

There’s good news for those who are worried about the shortage.

Diabetes Singapore is giving out free alcohol swabs and safety lancets to all diabetes patients from now till 29 Feb at their home and branch offices.

The charity will be partnering Aeras Medical, who were “heartbroken” after reading about the diabetic customer who couldn’t buy alcohol swabs.

Diabetes Singapore initiative will ease lives of diabetics amid Covid-19

Diabetes Singapore told MS News that the virus is causing complications for diabetics.

They’re worried that it would be inconvenient for patients to go for regular screenings and buy their medical necessities.

Hence, this timely initiative will help diabetics immensely in their management.

Kudos to Diabetes Singapore for recognising problems that diabetics face and giving them the supplies they need.
