Woman allegedly hit girl at Havelock 2 mall, netizen claims they are mother & child
A 13-year-old girl was sent to hospital on Wednesday (12 Aug) after an incident at the Havelock 2 mall, the authorities said.
It also resulted in a 47-year-old woman being arrested for causing hurt.

Witness claims mother hit child near tuition centre
According to a post on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page that was later deleted, the incident was witnessed by someone who operates a shop in the mall.
They claimed that a mother had hit her child in a public area of the mall.
A staff member from a tuition centre nearby stood next to them as this was happening, the witness added.
When the incident escalated, an ambulance arrived and took the child away on a stretcher.

Girl sent to NUH from Havelock 2 mall
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received a call for assistance at 2.30pm on 12 Aug.
It came from 2 Havelock Road — the address of Havelock 2 mall.
A 13-year-old girl was sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which was alerted at about 3.15pm, told MS News that she was conveyed to the National University Hospital (NUH).
Woman arrested, faces twice the maximum punishment
Additionally, a 47-year-old woman was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt against a person below 14 years of age.
According to the Penal Code 1817, those convicted of voluntarily causing hurt face up to three years in prison and/or a fine of up to S$5,000.
If the offence was against a person below 14 years of age, the offender faces enhanced penalties, according to SPF.
That means the court may sentence them to up to twice the maximum punishment that it could impose.
Police investigations are ongoing.
