Jurong Point Was Visited By Covid-19 Patients On 20 & 21 May, Contact Tracing Is Underway

Jurong Point’s NTUC Fairprice & Shokutsu Ten Were Visited By Covid-19 Cases, Confirms MOH

The Ministry of Health (MOH) shared on Monday (25 May) that they’ll be announcing heartland locations where confirmed Covid-19 patients have visited for 30 min or longer.

Jurong Point – a popular megamall – had 2 locations listed:

  • NTUC Fairprice: 20 May (Wed) 4.30-6.00pm
  • Jurong Point: 21 May (Thu), 5.30-6.30pm
  • Shokutsu Ten Japanese Food Street – 21 May (Thu), 5.45-6.15pm

This is to facilitate contact tracing and to aid the progress of “epidemiological investigations”.

The locations will be updated on a “rolling basis” according to a 14-day incubation period.

Covid-19 cases at Jurong Point on 20-21 May

On 20 & 21 May, an unstated number of confirmed Covid-19 community cases visited these places at Jurong Point.

It can be observed that both visitations were made in the late afternoon to early evening — considered peak hours to visit the supermarket or public areas.

The public has been advised to offset their visits to avoid similar peak timings.

Close contacts notified by MOH

MOH confirms that “close contacts” of these confirmed cases have already “been notified”.

As for citizens who’ve visited Jurong Point at similar dates & timings, they should monitor their health closely for the next 14 days from their date of visit.

The list of public locations currently excludes the following places:

  • Residence
  • Workplaces
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Public transport

Monitor your health closely

Visitors of these areas are reminded to see a doctor immediately if you develop any of these respiratory symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Fever
  • Loss of taste/smell

Patients should also inform their doctors of their “exposure history”, said MOH.
