Look before you eat
The netizen claims that her mom and brother ate half the bag of Irvin’s Salted Egg Fish Skin.
As they were munching away, her brother saw a head and thought it was a baby salmon’s head.
It turns out that the head belonged to a gecko that was deep fried with the fish skin.
The netizen claims that the bag was sealed and the gecko was found inside.
Salted barf flavor?

A netizen thinks that the gecko is responsible for the “extra umami” flavour.
Another claimed that it was a “new product batch” featuring “farm-raised geckos”.
The new flavor seems to be “salted barf”.
Whatever the case, some consumers are considering other brands.
What comes next?
The netizen claims she’s reached out to the brand via email.
MS News has also reached out to Irvins Salted Egg Chips for comment regarding the incident, so stay tuned for more updates.
We’re still not sure where the salted deep fried gecko came from, but we’re not looking forward to its mass production any time soon.
