But on Saturday (29 Dec), a netizen based in Thailand allegedly found a deep fried gecko inside a bag of the brand’s salted egg fish skin chips.

The netizen claims that her mom and brother ate half the bag of Irvin’s Salted Egg Fish Skin.
As they were munching away, her brother saw a head and thought it was a baby salmon’s head.
It turns out that the head belonged to a gecko that was deep fried with the fish skin.
The netizen claims that the bag was sealed and the gecko was found inside.
Salted barf flavor?
Her post sparked many sarcastic remarks about the fried lizard.
A netizen thinks that the gecko is responsible for the “extra umami” flavour.
Another claimed that it was a “new product batch” featuring “farm-raised geckos”.
The new flavor seems to be “salted barf”.
Whatever the case, some consumers are considering other brands.
