Elderly Man Pulls Down Wife’s Mask To Help Her Drink Water On MRT

Many dream of growing old alongside someone they love, caring for one another as they walk into their golden years.

And watching subtle displays of love by elderly couples often touches our hearts, showing us that this sometimes does become a reality.

Recently, an elderly man was seen on an MRT train pulling down his wife’s mask so she could take a sip of water.

The simple gesture moved many and earned the video on Singapore Incidents’ Facebook page several hundred shares.

Man pulls down wife’s mask on MRT so she can drink water

In the video posted on Saturday (16 Apr), the elderly man is seen trying to pull down the mask of the woman sitting next to him – presumably his wife – so she could take a sip of water from a bottle.

At first, he tries to remove her mask by pulling it from the bottom.

His wife then stops him, and pulls her mask down from the top instead, which her husband also helps her with.

Eventually, the woman manages to take a sip of water from the bottle.

The entire time this was happening, the man’s eyes never left his wife, as he gazed lovingly at her throughout the duration of the video.

In the video, the OP also noted this, saying, ‘after so many years, he still looks at her like this…’.

Tender moment between the couple moves many

Appreciating life’s sweet moments

Life in Singapore is hectic and most of us often have our heads buried in our phones during train rides.

Some have questioned the OP’s intentions for taking and posting the video. But perhaps we should take the video at face value and just appreciate it for what it is — a tender moment between a couple brought about by a simple but thoughtful gesture.

After all, can’t we all do with a little more sweetness and love in our lives?
