Man finds needle tip in pork while eating meal in Thailand
A man in Thailand shared that he found what appeared to be an injection needle in a piece of meat while eating, saying he was lucky not to have swallowed it or injured himself.
According to a Facebook post on 22 Aug, the man said he had bought nam tok moo, or Thai waterfall pork, from a stall near his home.
While chewing, he felt something hard in his mouth and initially thought it was a piece of bone.
Says he was lucky he did not swallow the needle
However, after spitting it out and taking a closer look, he realised that it was a hypodermic needle.

“I was so lucky that it didn’t pierce my gum and I didn’t swallow it. Right now, I’m not feeling anything unusual,” the original poster (OP) wrote.
He added that he would normally scroll on his phone while eating, but fortunately, he had not been doing so at the time.
Reflecting on the close call, the OP urged others to chew their food carefully and mindfully.
He also attached photos showing the needle tip he had found.

Does not blame vendor for incident
In response to queries from MS News, the OP, who identified himself as 29-year-old M, said the incident occurred on the morning of Saturday (22 Aug).
After discovering the needle, he stopped eating and threw away the rest of the food, though he kept the needle.

M said he was a regular customer at the small roadside stall, located in an alley, and had never encountered any foreign objects in his food there before.
He had not informed the elderly vendor about the incident, saying he did not blame her or intend to pursue the matter as he was certain it had not been intentional.
To avoid causing harm to the vendor, M also chose not to disclose the stall’s name or other identifying details in his post.
Pork was reportedly bought from butcher at a market
On Sunday (23 Aug), M returned to the stall to buy fried fish and took the opportunity to ask where the pork had come from.
He was told that the meat had been purchased from a pork butcher at a market.
M also confirmed that he had not experienced any unusual symptoms following the incident.
Some netizens share similar experiences
Several netizens responding to the post said they had encountered similar incidents before.

Translation: I found one before too and almost swallowed it. While I was chewing, my mouth hurt, so I spat it out and found a needle like the one in the photo. It was very dangerous.

One commenter suggested that the OP undergo a medical check-up as a precaution.

Another user, who said they had previously worked on a pig farm, claimed that the neck area is commonly used for administering antibiotics and vaccines to pigs.
The commenter added that livestock veterinarians working on swine farms may avoid eating that part of the animal.
