A customer at McDonald’s Bendemeer was not loving it after he was told he could not place an order for 20 minutes due to a shift change.

In a TikTok video posted on 27 May, @kamehao shared his disbelief after outlet staff reportedly informed him that ordering was temporarily unavailable due to a shift change.
“Where got this kinda thing one sia?” the Original Poster (OP) said in Mandarin in the clip.
The OP explained that he had visited the fast-food outlet craving a cheeseburger, only to be told to wait.

“I’m craving a cheeseburger now, but I have to wait for 20 minutes,” he said in exasperation.
He also questioned whether such a practice was normal at McDonald’s outlets.
“You mean I can’t order for 20 minutes just because you are changing shifts? Is there such a thing, McDonald’s?” he asked.
Some netizens defend McDonald’s, telling OP to wait instead
The incident has since sparked a discussion online, with some netizens defending the fast-food chain.
A netizen asked the OP to “give them time la”, to which the OP replied that maybe his expectations were too high.

A commenter shared that this was a common practice at many restaurants, where they need some time to “clear the previous order” before the new shift takes over.
