Struggling mother feeds her 3-month-old child black tea
A single mother of five in Selangor, Malaysia, reportedly fed her three-month-old baby black tea because she could not afford baby formula.
She lives in bare unit without gas and cares for 5 children
At 6.20m on Tuesday (14 July), Chee Heng Kuan, a social activist and the founder of Community Policing Malaysia, took to his Facebook. He requested help for a 27-year-old Indian Muslim mother who was struggling financially while caring for her 5 children, aged 7, 5, 3, 18 months and 3 months.

According to his post, the woman lived in a bare unit in Taman Selayang Segar, Jalan Selayang Segar, Batu Caves.
Her flat was without gas, and she had fallen behind on her RM900 (S$285) rent.
Fed her infant with black tea instead of baby formula
Mr Chee added that the mother had fed Teh O, also known as black tea, to her three-month-old infant because she lacked funds to afford milk.
The infant was found to have been malnourished.

He appealed to members of the public who can buy gas, groceries, and milk for the family to call him at 019-231 6666 to get their address and help out.
3 people stepped forward to help
Mr Chee later updated the comments section to share that they had received assistance. He said three people stepped forward to help.
One netizen suggested that if the family is Malaysian, they could reach out to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) for help. The netizen also suggested that they contact Baitulmal if they are Muslims.
