Mother in the Philippines asks popular YouTuber to help share her baby’s fundraiser
On Friday (2 Oct), a mother in the Philippines took to Threads to ask popular US-based kids’ content creator, Ms Rachel, to help share her baby’s fundraiser.
To her surprise, Ms Rachel responded the following day, saying she had donated the full fundraiser target of USD5,000 (around S$6,400).
Baby born with organs outside stomach
In the Threads post, the mother, Daisy, shared a video of her older son singing “I Love a Rainbow”, a children’s song written and performed by Ms Rachel.
Saying the song is her son’s favourite, she expressed hope that the content creator with 21.6 million followers on YouTube would share the fundraiser for her younger son.
The mother shared that her younger son was diagnosed with omphalocele, a birth defect where an infant’s organs stick outside its abdomen through the belly button, enclosed in a thin sac.

Although he has since been discharged, the family still faces a huge medical bill of Php292,557 (about S$6,000).
“We never imagined that our baby’s hospital bill would reach such a high amount,” Daisy wrote. “Despite all our efforts, our financial means are still insufficient to cover the hospital expenses.”
