2 NTU Students Who Test Positive For Covid-19 Has Not Reported To Campus Since Mid-Feb
As the number of imported Covid-19 cases rise in Singapore over recent days, some students Nanyang Technological University (NTU) who returned from overseas have also been infected by the infectious virus.
2 NTU students who recently returned from Spain have tested positive for Covid-19, according to an email seen by MS News on Wednesday (18 Mar).
NTU students with Covid-19 now in NUH and NCID
In the email address to students, faculty, and staff, the 2 students tested positive for the new coronavirus in the past 2 days. Both are unrelated and are receiving treatment at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and the National University Hospital (NUH).
The pair have reportedly not been on campus since the middle of Feb this year.
They did not state which cases they are.
However, they are likely either Case 229, 240, or 253 – announced on 16 and 17 Mar – given their age and recent travel histories to Spain.
Folks from NTU are in touch with the pair who are in “good spirits” despite contracting the virus.
NTU introduces new measures for students & staff returning to Singapore
As the global spread of the virus intensifies, NTU will be introducing more measures to curb the spread of the virus on campus.
From Monday (16 Mar), all staff and students returning to Singapore will be issued a 14-day leave of absence, regardless of the countries they had visited.
