PM Lee Asks Citizens To Carry On Living “As Normally As Possible” & Revisit Local Attractions
Although the Covid-19 outbreak has led to some changes in lifestyle, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong still urges citizens to go about their lives as per normal.
In his Facebook post yesterday, PM Lee highlights that local attractions and businesses have taken a hit from the outbreak of Covid-19.
He shares that the government is working closely with businesses and union leaders to ensure that workers are protected during this downturn.
He then promotes visiting – or revisiting – local attractions and staycations at local hotels in Singapore. Citing free entry to Jewel’s Canopy Park as an example, PM Lee asked for all of us to go about our lives as normally as possible in spite of Covid-19 outbreak.
Sets example, shares photos from his recent Jurong Bird Park visit
PM Lee also shared photos he took when he #jalanjalan-ed at Jurong Bird Park a few weekends back.
Each photo came with a cute little blurb introducing the different species. From flamingos to cranes, iguanas to Jurong Bird Park staff, it sure looked like he covered many bases during his trip.
Netizens agree with him & enjoy his pictures
Many netizens shared his sentiments and commented in support of his post. One netizen referred to PM Lee’s words as excellent advice while reminding others to stay vigilant.
Another netizen noted that people were flocking back to shops and eateries, and suggested rallying behind and supporting local businesses.
PM Lee’s photography skills were also praised, with the netizen claiming that he really captured beautiful colours of nature.
It’s nice to see when a leader leads by example. We should not let Covid-19 get in the way of our lives and continue our support for local tourism.
Do remember to stay vigilant though, and practise good hygiene.
