Kind motorcyclist assists elderly rider with broken-down scooter
What would you do if you saw an elderly uncle struggle with his scooter in the middle of the road?
For one rider, she decided to hop off her own bike to help.
Elderly man unable to start scooter
In a 40-second TikTok video she shared on Thursday (29 Oct), the motorcyclist is seen approaching a cross intersection at a red light.
She stops next to an elderly man on a scooter who appears to struggle to start his vehicle. Notably, he is not wearing a helmet.
As the uncle still couldn’t push his scooter to safety when the traffic light turned green, the woman decides to help him move it to the side of the road.
While she does this, the rider is also seen signalling other motorists to apologise and ask them to make way.
The video has gained over 200,000 views as of writing.
Uncle couldn’t push scooter by himself
Speaking to MS News, the rider, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the incident took place along Kallang Bahru Road at around 5pm on Wednesday (28 Oct).
She said she initially paused to assess the situation and check if the elderly man needed assistance.
“Realising he couldn’t start his bike, I asked him to push,” the rider recalled.
“He said he couldn’t push. So I decided to push for him to get him out of oncoming traffic,” she added.

However, some commenters also pointed out that the uncle appeared to be losing his cognitive function due to his age.
Worried, they hoped the elderly man’s family would prevent him from riding further for his own and other motorists’ safety.
