Sentosa Siloso Beach Now Has Clever ‘Little Trees’ That Dispense Sunscreen In No Fry Zones

Sentosa Beaches Have Sunscreen Dispensing Machines

The importance of sunscreen cannot be overstated. It not only reduces the risk of skin cancer but also prevents wrinkles — or at least, slows the process.

Beach-goers who are always leaving their home without their tubes of sunscreen can finally rest easy. Plopped somewhere in the sandy expanse of Sentosa‘s Tanjong and Siloso beaches are tree-like machines that dispense sunscreen.

The machines are made by a budding tech company called No Fry Zone.

Environmentally-friendly kiosks

More than providing sunscreen to the forgetful masses – or those who just ran out of the all-important serum – the machines are also eco-friendly.

There are solar panels on the roof which help power the kiosk, not very different from leaves providing energy for a plant.

At night, the ‘tree’ lights up in a nocturnal glow.

According to the website guide, 15ml is enough if you just want to cover exposed limbs, and 30ml if you want a full-body coat.

Sunscreen an essential for fun in the sun

Some of you may think sunscreen is unnecessary. Or maybe you don’t like it because it feels greasy when applied to your skin.

But like many authorities on health have repeated, its importance cannot be overstated. It may even do you well to put on sunscreen everyday — especially with our relentless weather.
