Bangkok Restaurant Owner Is 1st Singaporean To Test Positive For Covid-19 In Thailand

It seemed like the number of new cases here was slowly decreasing, until the cluster of infections at SAFRA Jurong popped up. It definitely showed us how quickly Covid-19 can be passed to people, especially in a dining setting.
Unfortunately, the Singaporean owner of a Bangkok restaurant was the first Singaporean to test positive for Covid-19 in Thailand.
The 36-year-old owner of Ohana Poke in Bangkok tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday (10 Mar) and was immediately transferred to a government quarantine hospital, reports The Straits Times (ST).

Restaurant owner took to Facebook to inform customers
The Singaporean is Mr Jaycee Feng, owner of the restaurant Ohana Poke in Bangkok.
As the owner of a food establishment, he felt the need to inform his customers and staff of his plight.
That’s why he took to Facebook to share his situation.
Mr Feng informed his customers that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and that Ohana Poke was closed for their safety.
According to his post, he had not been in the restaurant since Friday (6 Mar). He started feeling unwell on Sunday (9 Mar) morning, and stayed at home other than to buy food and a thermometer.

It’s gotten nearly 6,000 shares on Facebook, with netizens commending him for his concern and responsibility in ensuring he had not infected anyone else.
Mr Feng even shared a picture of his flight ticket and passport to prove that he had been in Thailand since 2 Feb, as rumours of him visiting South Korea, or being Korean, surfaced.
He assured netizens that all his staff had been tested and are currently self-quarantining for 14 days. None of them have displayed any symptoms.
Singaporean probably caught Covid-19 in Thailand
Given that Mr Feng had been in Thailand since 2 Feb, he was probably infected there.
Ohana Poke is closed until further notice, and Mr Feng plans to update netizens on his status via Ohana Poke’s Facebook page again if necessary.
