Ex-The Ellen Show DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss Passes Away On 14 Dec

Behind every long-running show is a group of dedicated individuals who make the production possible. The Ellen Show, which ran for 19 years prior to its last episode this May, was no exception.

Apart from Ellen herself, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss – known for his bright and smiley presence – was also a popular figure in the show.

Sadly, news emerged on Wednesday (14 Dec) night that he was found dead in a hotel room in Los Angeles, reportedly with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ex-The Ellen Show DJ Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss passes away from self-inflicted gunshot wound

On Wednesday (14 Dec), Stephen’s wife – Allison Holker – told People about her husband’s tragic demise,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.

In a separate report, tabloid news site TMZ said that Stephen’s death was a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Information from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, which is available publicly, corroborates this claim.

Paying tribute to her husband, Allison said that Stephen “lit up every room he stepped into”, and placed his family, friends, and community above all else.

Despite his passing, Allison was sure that Stephen’s “positive impact” will continue to be felt and that “there won’t be a day that they (we) won’t honour his memory”.

Allison also asked for privacy for herself and her three children during this difficult time.

She ended her statement with a touching message to her husband,

I will always save the last dance for you.

Ellen DeGeneres has also penned a short tribute to her co-host, describing him as “pure love and light”.

About six years after his debut on the talk show, Stephen was promoted to co-executive producer in 2020.

Stephen’s appearance on the talk show naturally stopped following the show’s conclusion in May.

Providing a glimpse into his life post-The Ellen Degeneres Show, he reportedly said that “it’s really fantastic” to be able to spend more time with his three children.

Stephen last posted a video of himself and Allison dancing to Alicia Keys’ ‘December Back 2 June’ in front of a Christmas Tree.

This reportedly came just days after the pair’s 9th wedding anniversary.

Our condolences are with the Boss household during these trying times. May he rest in peace.
