Grade 10 student sexually assaulted by maths teacher on several occasions
A high school mathematics teacher in Chonburi, Thailand, is under police investigation after a 16-year-old student accused him of sexually harassing and abusing her in exchange for better grades.
The student and her mother filed a complaint at Bang Lamung Police Station on 23 Aug, with the support of Suttinee Nuchnart, head of the Chonburi Children and Family Shelter.

The student, identified as Ms B (pseudonym), is a Grade 10 student at a high school in Chonburi.
She alleged that the teacher sexually abused her on two occasions between June and July.
Student said teacher offered academic help
Ms B’s mother, identified as Ms A (pseudonym), said her daughter became unusually quiet and withdrawn in recent months.
After asking her what had happened, Ms A said her daughter broke down and revealed that her mathematics teacher had allegedly assaulted her.

According to Ms B, she had struggled academically, and the teacher offered to help her improve her grades.
She claimed the teacher promised to help her pass without sitting for exams and provided answer keys for her to copy.
After her grades improved, she alleged that the teacher used the arrangement to persuade her to leave school with him.
Alleged abuse took place outside school
Ms B told authorities that the teacher first brought her to a resort in Bang Lamung district that operates under a naturist policy. The resort requires guests to be nude when using shared facilities.
She alleged that the teacher touched her inappropriately during the first visit.
During a second visit, she claimed the teacher booked a room, asked her for a massage and forced her into sexual intercourse.
She said the teacher used a condom during the first incident but not during the second.

The student also alleged that the teacher had repeatedly touched her inappropriately at school.
Unable to tolerate the situation, she secretly recorded a video, which allegedly showed the teacher reaching under her skirt.

The police are treating the footage as evidence.
Police collecting evidence, including handwritten agreement by teacher
A handwritten agreement allegedly drafted at the school on 15 July also surfaced. The document reportedly stated that the teacher would transfer to another school to give the student peace of mind and pay 50,000 baht (about S$1,900) in emotional damages.
The agreement also required the student and her guardians to take responsibility if any videos or evidence leaked after signing it. The agreement also said they gave up the right to pursue further action against him.
Police have sent officers to inspect the resort to collect potential evidence.
Meanwhile, officials from the Chonburi Children and Family Shelter are accompanying the student for a medical examination to gather forensic evidence as investigations continue.
