Two bodies discovered bound together in Chao Phraya River
Two bodies were found in the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok on 27 March.
Witnesses reported seeing the pair walking together toward the water’s edge.
Residents alerted police after spotting bodies
Residents near the Rama VIII Bridge in the Bang Phlat district spotted two bodies floating face down in the river.
They alerted authorities at 11.30am that day.

Upon arrival at the pier, officials found that the bodies were bound together, wedged under the floating pontoon.

Residents later told investigators that, at around 10.30am, they had seen two individuals, both appearing to be in their 40s, walking hand-in-hand toward the stairs leading to the river.
Rescue team successfully retrieved bodies from river
A large-scale search operation was launched involving a local rescue foundation Poh Teck Tung Foundation, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Police and underwater drone search teams.

At 3.50pm, divers located the first body at a depth of approximately 10 metres.
Rescue teams then located and recovered the body of the second person at 4.32pm.
Conclusion still pending as investigation continues
As of now, the police have not yet identified the deceased.
While the circumstances are highly suspicious, investigators have not yet concluded whether the incident is a double homicide or another form of tragedy.

The bodies have been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, police have been ordered to review CCTV footage along the riverbanks and cross-reference records of missing persons in nearby areas.
