As rescuers didn’t know where the snake came from, they believed it might have been an escaped pet and considered taking it to a zoo for care.

After catching the snake, Sermsuk called her son to say an albino python had somehow entered the house.
He then revealed that the snake was actually his pet.
He had kept it in a glass enclosure in an upstairs room, but it apparently escaped and slithered downstairs without his mother knowing.
The family subsequently asked rescuers to return the python to its enclosure.
